This is the repository convention: of the packages currently carrying an (Unreleased) top entry, 71 have a matching _version.py and 2 do not. TokenCredential.get_token is not cached, so AzureCliCredential shelled out to 'az account get-access-token' per job (~77s for 100 jobs in the issue vs ~13s without). The tenant id is stable for a JobOperations instance, so cache it on self._tid_cache after the first decode and reuse for subsequent jobs. No public API or wire change. * Add regression test for JobOperations tenant id cache Addresses Copilot review feedback on PR: asserts _append_tid_to_studio_url populates both jobs' Studio URLs with the tenant id while credential.get_token() is called exactly once. Existing tests only covered the no-services no-op path. * Apply black formatting to tid cache regression test Collapses the multi-line function signature and AccessToken constructor to single lines at the repo's 120-char line length, matching what black in the CI pipeline expects. * Rename tid_cache * [AutoPR azure-mgmt-servicefabricmanagedclusters]-generated-from-SDK Generation - Python-6768562 (#48819) * Configurations: 'specification/servicefabricmanagedclusters/resource-manager/Microsoft.ServiceFabric/ServiceFabricManagedClusters/tspconfig.yaml', and CommitSHA: '44920c2ab894014c26ce4a61b0eb5483ecf48280' in SpecRepo: 'https://github.com/Azure/azure-rest-api-specs' Pipeline run: https://dev.azure.com/azure-sdk/internal/_build/results?buildId=6767794 Refer to https://eng.ms/docs/products/azure-developer-experience/develop/sdk-release/sdk-release-prerequisites to prepare for SDK release. * Update Service Fabric Managed Clusters changelog Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> Copilot-Session: 2e3615d9-62b8-4494-a517-9932780acb81 * Configurations: 'specification/servicefabricmanagedclusters/resource-manager/Microsoft.ServiceFabric/ServiceFabricManagedClusters/tspconfig.yaml', and CommitSHA: 'f4d16444c4bf911d8017bfa1b92365aacef0d130' in SpecRepo: 'https://github.com/Azure/azure-rest-api-specs' Pipeline run: https://dev.azure.com/azure-sdk/internal/_build/results?buildId=6768562 Refer to https://eng.ms/docs/products/azure-developer-experience/develop/sdk-release/sdk-release-prerequisites to prepare for SDK release. * Update Service Fabric Managed Clusters changelog Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> Copilot-Session: 2e3615d9-62b8-4494-a517-9932780acb81 --------- Co-authored-by: azure-sdk <azuresdk@microsoft.com> Co-authored-by: Evan Waldmann <Waldmannevan@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Evan Waldmann (from Dev Box) <evanwaldmann@microsoft.com> Copilot-Session: 2e3615d9-62b8-4494-a517-9932780acb81 * Fix issue where package info is missing or empty. * fix(evaluation): bump version to 1.18.5 to match the Unreleased changelog entry
Verify ChangeLogEntries failed: _version.py still read 1.18.4, so the validator
picked up the 1.18.4 entry and rejected its 2026-08-27 date for no longer being
the latest in the file, now that a 1.18.5 (Unreleased) section sits above it.
_version.py represents the upcoming version and has to match the Unreleased
heading. This is the repository convention: of the packages currently carrying an
(Unreleased) top entry, 71 have a matching _version.py and 2 do not.

* Refactor agent name retrieval to use a fallback mechanism
- Updated multiple sample scripts to change the way the agent name is retrieved from environment variables.
- Replaced the default value assignment using `os.environ.get("FOUNDRY_AGENT_NAME", "MyAgent")` with a more concise approach using `os.environ.get("FOUNDRY_AGENT_NAME") or "MyAgent"`.
- This change ensures that if the environment variable is not set, the fallback value "MyAgent" is still used, while improving code readability.

* [azure-ai-ml] Store tenant id in JobOperations to speed up jobs.list() iteration (#48760)
* [azure-ai-ml] Cache tenant id in JobOperations to speed up jobs.list() iteration
Fixes #48415. _append_tid_to_studio_url called credential.get_token() on every job during list() iteration to decode the tenant id from a JWT.
* Add regression test for JobOperations tenant id cache
Addresses Copilot review feedback on PR: asserts _append_tid_to_studio_url populates both jobs' Studio URLs with the tenant id while credential.get_token() is called exactly once. Existing tests only covered the no-services no-op path.
* Apply black formatting to tid cache regression test
Collapses the multi-line function signature and AccessToken constructor to single lines at the repo's 120-char line length, matching what black in the CI pipeline expects.
* Rename tid_cache

* [azure-ai-projects] Add Voice Agents realtime client, samples, and tests aligned with .beta structure (#48965)
* Add Voice Agents realtime client, samples, and tests aligned with .beta structure
feature/azure-ai-projects/vnext already has the generated Voice Agents surface
(.beta.agent_endpoint_conversations, .beta.agent_telephony, .beta.agents
telephony binding/call/generate methods, .beta.voice_agent_web_socket) via
PR #48950. This change adds the missing hand-written realtime WebSocket
client and the surrounding samples/tests/docs to make Voice Agents a complete,
usable feature, all under the .beta naming convention:
- azure/ai/projects/_realtime.py and aio/_realtime.py: hand-written realtime
WebSocket client (Realtime/AsyncRealtime, RealtimeConnection(Manager)),
exposed as client.beta.realtime / async_client.beta.realtime via a new
property on BetaOperations. Exported from azure.ai.projects.operations /
azure.ai.projects.aio.operations (not the top-level package), matching how
other .beta-only classes are exported.
- 11 samples under samples/agents/voice/: CRUD lifecycle, guided generation,
versioning, tools, live text/audio conversations, function-tool calling,
and reading back persisted conversations/audio.
- 14 test files under tests/agents/ and tests/foundry_features_header/:
CRUD, telephony, telephony campaigns, conversations, realtime client
(mocked + live), and telephony protocol tests.
- Supporting test infra: conftest.py Foundry-Features/Accept sanitizers,
test_base.py foundry_voice_model_name, and a NON_OPERATION_BETA_ATTRIBUTES
exclusion in the generic .beta header-injection test (realtime is a
hand-written WebSocket entry point, not a generated REST operation, so it
can't be exercised by that generic mechanism -- it has its own dedicated
header test in test_realtime_client.py).
- PostEmitter.ps1: regression guard so a future tsp-client update can't
silently overwrite _realtime.py's SDK client-identification fix (PR #48848)
without failing the emit step.
- pyproject.toml: optional
ealtime extra (websockets / aiohttp).
- CHANGELOG.md, README.md, .env.template, dev_requirements.txt updated.
Renames applied while porting (vnext's TypeSpec commit is newer than the
source branch this was ported from, and renamed several methods beyond just
.beta nesting -- verified against vnext's own generated code and
docs/public-methods.md):
- agent_endpoint_conversations: dropped the "agent_conversation" infix and
renamed *_content methods to download_* (e.g. get_agent_conversation_item
-> get_item, get_agent_conversation_item_audio_content ->
download_item_audio).
- agent_telephony: dropped the redundant "telephony_" infix (e.g.
create_telephony_call_job -> create_call_job, begin_validate_telephony_campaign
-> begin_validate_campaign).
- agents.generate_agent -> agents.generate, and telephony binding/call
methods moved from top-level client.agents to client.beta.agents.
Validated: black/pylint/mypy/pyright all clean. Full test suite: 219
passed/74 skipped/0 failed outside voice; voice+header suite 732 passed/49
skipped/8 failed (all 8 are brand-new tests with no recording yet, not a
regression). Live-tested all 11 samples end-to-end against a real Foundry
project with a real gpt-realtime deployment: real HTTP status codes, real
multi-turn realtime conversations with byte-accurate audio sizing, real
function-tool invocation, and real conversation/audio persistence+readback.

* Address PR review feedback and generate voice-agent test recordings
Review feedback fixes:
- CSpell: add "redef" to sdk/ai/cspell.yaml (fixes CI failure on the
type: ignore[no-redef] comment in
sample_voice_agent_live_audio_conversation_async.py).
- PostEmitter.ps1: remove the _realtime.py regression guard -- verified
empirically (ran a real tsp-client update against the pinned commit; the
hand-written files came back byte-identical) that tsp-client update does
not touch files it doesn't generate, so the guard was unnecessary.
- pyproject.toml: rename the "realtime" optional-dependency extra to
"voice" (matches how it'll be documented for voice agents); update the
2 samples that referenced [realtime] to [voice].
- Samples: pin azure-ai-projects>=2.7.0 (drop the b1/--pre prerelease
pins -- this package no longer ships beta releases) across all 11 voice
samples; use the [voice] extra instead of manually listing aiohttp in
the 2 samples that need it.
- _realtime.py / aio/_realtime.py:
- Remove the foundry_features parameter from
RealtimeConnectionManager/Realtime.connect/AsyncRealtime.connect --
the realtime route is voice-agent-specific, so the header value is
always the same and callers should not need (or be able) to override
it. The value is now a hardcoded module constant.
- Fix structured_inputs' type: it was Optional[str], silently requiring
callers to pre-serialize their own JSON string with no documentation
of the expected shape. Retyped to Optional[Mapping[str, Any]],
matching the analogous generated model field
(CreateTelephonyCallJobRequest.structured_inputs: dict[str, any]),
and now serialized internally via SdkJSONEncoder.
- Updated test_realtime_client.py/_async.py's _make_manager() helpers
to match (foundry_features removed; the header-value assertions still
pass since it's now a module constant rather than a per-call override).
Test recordings:
- Generated live recordings for the 8 new voice-agent tests that had none
yet (test_voice_agent_crud(_async).py x6, test_read_conversation(_async)
x2), against a real Foundry project with a real gpt-realtime deployment.
Verified sanitization (endpoint/auth stripped) and re-verified end-to-end
in playback mode after a fresh assets restore from the new tag.
- Pushed the new recordings to Azure/azure-sdk-assets (tag
python/ai/azure-ai-projects_59c7584f68) via the GitHub Git Data REST API,
since a direct git push to that repo hangs in this environment; updated
assets.json accordingly.
Validated: black/pylint/mypy clean; full existing test suite unaffected
(740 passed, 49 skipped, 0 failed, up from 732 passed/8 failed).

* Fix realtime client wire-contract and sample bugs; simplify voice-agent samples to use create_version directly
- _realtime.py / aio/_realtime.py: send structured_inputs as the documented
structured_input query parameter instead of a custom header; distinguish
graceful WebSocket closure from abnormal closure/transport errors so
`for event in conn:` no longer silently swallows real failures.
- sample_voice_agent_live_audio_conversation_async.py: always clear buffered
local playback audio on barge-in, independent of whether a server response
is still active.
- sample_voice_agent_live_text_conversation.py / _async.py: drain a cancelled
response's terminal event (correlated by response id) before starting the
next turn, so a late completion can't be mistaken for the next reply.
- test_voice_agent_conversations.py / _async.py: require at least one
successful per-item audio retrieval instead of tolerating an all-404 run.
- test_realtime_client.py / _async.py: add regression tests for the
structured_input query parameter and the graceful-vs-abnormal closure
distinction.
- sample_voice_agent_live_audio_conversation_async.py, sample_voice_agent_live_text_conversation.py,
sample_voice_agent_live_text_conversation_async.py: replace the generate()-then-patch-store
two-step pattern with a single direct VoiceAgentDefinition(..., store=True) + create_version()
call, matching sample_voice_agent_basic.py. Live-tested all three end-to-end.
- GeneratePublicMethods.ps1 / docs/public-methods.md / api.md / api.metadata.yml:
fix the generator to recognize the hand-written beta.realtime sub-client
(a plain property, not a generated *Operations group) and regenerate.

* Fix pylint line-too-long in VoiceConversationStatus docstring
A parallel merge from feature/azure-ai-projects/vnext brought in a docstring
bullet-list join fix (for a Sphinx warning) that pushed one line over
pylint's 120-char limit. Re-wrap with correct RST continuation indentation;
verified clean with docutils (no Sphinx warnings) and pylint (10.00/10).
Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com>
* Fix stale realtime docstrings and reformat telephony tests with black
- Realtime/AsyncRealtime and their _ConfigProvider docstrings incorrectly said
they could be constructed from either the top-level client or .beta.voice_agents;
in practice only BetaVoiceAgentsOperations ever constructs them. Corrected the
docstrings/type hints to match.
- Reformatted 4 telephony test files with black (eng/black-pyproject.toml) after
the longer beta.voice_agents.telephony identifier pushed some lines past 120 chars.
Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com>
* Add Beta prefix to hand-written realtime classes for naming consistency
Renames the 6 hand-written voice-agent realtime classes to align with the
generated Beta<Group>Operations naming convention used throughout the rest of
the .beta.voice_agents.* hierarchy (BetaVoiceAgentsOperations,
BetaVoiceAgentsConversationsOperations, BetaVoiceAgentsTelephonyOperations):
- Realtime -> BetaRealtime
- RealtimeConnection -> BetaRealtimeConnection
- RealtimeConnectionManager -> BetaRealtimeConnectionManager
- AsyncRealtime -> AsyncBetaRealtime
- AsyncRealtimeConnection -> AsyncBetaRealtimeConnection
- AsyncRealtimeConnectionManager -> AsyncBetaRealtimeConnectionManager
Updated everywhere these are referenced: class definitions and __all__ in
_realtime.py/aio/_realtime.py, imports/type-hints/__all__ in
operations/_patch.py and its async twin, the hand-written-subclient detection
set in docs/GeneratePublicMethodsDoc.ps1, samples that import/type-hint the
connection classes, the realtime unit test suites, a docstring comment in
foundry_features_header_test_base.py, and CHANGELOG.md. Regenerated
docs/public-methods.md and api.md/api.metadata.yml to match.
Generated model files (_enums.py/_models.py) were left untouched -- their
"Realtime" mentions are generic OpenAI Realtime API prose, not references to
these classes.

* Add logging for WebSocket events in realtime connection classes (#49022)
* Skip agent_insights samples in test_samples.py until recordings exist
Both sample_agent_insights_on_demand and sample_agent_insights_scheduled
fail CI on every platform (macOS, Windows, Ubuntu 3.10/3.13/3.14) with a
404 for a missing recording file. The recording was never pushed to the
assets repo for these samples (added in #48889); confirmed missing on
our tag, vnext's tag, and main's tag. Live-recording them isn't viable
here since they need a connected Application Insights resource with
Privileged Monitoring Data Reader access, which isn't configured in this
environment.
Follows the existing samples_to_skip pattern already used above for
sample_external_agents_crud.py.

* Make conversation id optional in voice conversation-reading samples
Address PR review feedback: FOUNDRY_VOICE_CONVERSATION_ID (and
FOUNDRY_VOICE_AGENT_NAME) are now optional in
sample_voice_agent_read_conversation.py and
sample_voice_agent_read_conversation_audio.py. When unset, each sample
creates a temporary voice agent, holds one short realtime text turn via
the new hold_sample_conversation() helper to produce a real persisted
conversation, reads it back, then deletes the agent. Passing an
explicit agent name preserves the original read-only behavior against
an existing agent/conversation and leaves that agent untouched.
Adds samples/agents/voice/voice_sample_util.py with the shared
hold_sample_conversation() helper, which also polls until the
conversation finishes finalizing (not just until response.done)
before returning its id -- otherwise a caller reading it back
immediately could see an incomplete transcript.
Also fixes sample_voice_agent_read_conversation_audio.py's
read_merged_recording() to handle a 404 locally (no merged recording
available) instead of letting it abort the whole sample before the
per-item audio demo runs.
Live-verified against the real service: zero-config path (auto-create,
read, delete) and explicit agent name/conversation id path (read an
existing conversation, no side effects) both confirmed for each
sample. black/pylint/mypy clean.

* Sync hand-written telephony tests/changelog with vnext merge
The latest merge from vnext (feature/azure-ai-projects/vnext) brought in two
changes that our own dormant test files and CHANGELOG needed to catch up with:
- PR #49032: proper MatchConditions/etag handling (prep_if_match,
prep_if_none_match, quote_etag) for update_binding/delete_binding/
replace_transfer_targets/cancel_call_job.
- PR #49048: removed the entire telephony campaign feature from the generated
SDK (create_campaign, get_campaign, begin_import_campaign_recipients,
begin_validate_campaign, begin_publish_campaign, pause/resume/cancel_campaign,
get_operation, and their models/enums) as "deprecated" - this matches the
campaign bugs found during E2E testing (import always failing server-side,
malformed Operation-Location header).
Changes:
- Replace MatchConditions.Unconditionally with MatchConditions.IfPresent in
test_voice_agent_telephony.py/_async.py (Unconditionally does not map to
If-Match: * under the new prep_if_match logic and would 400; verified live
against the real service that IfPresent correctly reaches the 404 path).
Also fix an accompanying malformed fake binding ID.
- Delete test_voice_agent_telephony_campaign.py/_async.py (all tests targeted
now-removed campaign methods) and add test_voice_agent_telephony_call_job.py/
_async.py keeping only the still-valid call-job not-found test, using
etag="0" (a well-formed revision) since cancel_call_job's etag is a numeric
revision that rejects If-Match: *.
- Remove campaign entries from the foundry_features_header protocol tests.
- Update CHANGELOG.md to drop campaign mentions from the unreleased entry.
All touched tests are pytest.mark.skip'd already (no un-skip, no recordings
needed/affected). Full tests/agents/ + tests/foundry_features_header/ suite:
675 passed, 45 skipped. mypy/pylint/black clean.

- Ignore sample_voice_agent_live_text_conversation.py/_async.py in azpysdk's
recursive samples check (both eng/tools/azure-sdk-tools/azpysdk/samples.py
and scripts/devops_tasks/test_run_samples.py): the interactive input() loop
has no timeout/ignore entry, so an automated run can block indefinitely or
raise EOFError.
- Add a new test_agent_voice_samples group in tests/samples/test_samples.py
covering samples/agents/voice/, which was previously undiscovered since
get_sample_paths only lists files directly under samples/agents. The 4
pure-HTTP samples (basic, generate, versions, with_tools) are now live
recorded and run for real; the 4 WebSocket-based ones (live_text_conversation,
live_function_tool, read_conversation, read_conversation_audio) stay skipped
since they can't be captured/replayed by the test proxy. New recordings
pushed to azure-sdk-assets and assets.json updated to the new tag.
- sample_voice_agent_generate.py: wrap the post-create output in try/finally
so the agent is always deleted even if reading/printing the generated
definition raises.
- sample_voice_agent_read_conversation.py / _audio.py: require
FOUNDRY_VOICE_AGENT_NAME and FOUNDRY_VOICE_CONVERSATION_ID to be set
together or both left unset, instead of treating them independently (which
could mutate a user-owned agent without cleanup, or silently pair a
conversation id with the wrong default agent).
* Use delete_version instead of delete for temp agent cleanup
Per Howie's PR review suggestion: since the temp agent this sample creates
always has exactly one version, capture create_version's return value and
clean up with agents.delete_version(agent_name, agent_version) instead of
agents.delete(agent_name). Functionally equivalent in the normal case
(deleting an agent's last version also removes the agent, verified live),
but more surgical/consistent with the versioned-resource model.
Live-tested end-to-end for both samples' zero-config path: create temp
agent, hold conversation, read back (transcript / audio), clean up via
delete_version, confirmed agent fully removed afterward. black/pylint clean.
* Support agent-name-only mode in read-conversation samples
Relax the env-var validation from "both or neither" to "conversation_id
requires agent_name" (one-directional), so pointing FOUNDRY_VOICE_AGENT_NAME
at your own existing agent without a conversation_id is now supported: the
sample holds a new conversation against it instead of erroring out.
Only call create_version (and only clean up via delete_version afterward)
when the agent is auto-created by this sample; an explicitly named agent is
assumed to already exist and is used as-is, never modified or deleted.
hold_sample_conversation already raises a clear error if it isn't actually
configured with store=True.
Live-verified all 4 combinations for both samples: neither set (auto-create
+ cleanup), agent-only (new conversation on existing agent, left unmodified,
not deleted), conversation-id-only (blocked with a clear ValueError), and
both set (unchanged, fully manual). black/pylint clean.
* Revert "Support agent-name-only mode in read-conversation samples"
This reverts commit 805ef8815e0aed587da6905a84b48665e5a64744.
* Revert "Use delete_version instead of delete for temp agent cleanup"
This reverts commit f81b04c7bda57a03dfe47d80c736f325b3bd2e60.

This reverts commit a8942e0cad1b9d46a118de379e7407a388c9d772.
