I recently experimented with adding RTD for PR previews in #251 but have been unable to get the build to pass. It would be good to resume this activity at some point.
I'm going to disable the RTD PR builds again for now as it means all PRs show as failing, but if someone wants to pick this up again I can enable it again for testing.
