Custom api and store guides missing

I want to create a custom api where i can store the likes with posts and when fetching each posts, it can come back with the like count probably inside a meta. I don't know how to achieve that and there's limited resources that can explain this. Thought one that i saw that was close but it was just for custom endpoint decorator is this
