Visually handicapped people use devices as follows:
- shorts swipes on the screen, android will auto-focus on the next focusable element.
- slowly scan the screen with finger, TTS will ping when there is something.
Suggested plan of attack:
- Review phone (and maybe tablet) layouts, make sure appropriate things are focusable.
- Review layouts, give elements a sensible content description.
- Use TTS to announce changes, also update content description of fields.
- VERY VERY EXTRA: For vibration, come up with a relatively simple scheme to encode rank + suit of cards.
